RETURN APPS ON IOS

Consumers can restore deleted apps on both iOS and Android.

If you want to restore apps that have been removed from your iPhone, proceed as follows:

Open the App Store.

At the top right, tap your profile picture and go to the “Purchases” button. All downloaded apps can be found here, including free applications.

In the next step, select the entry “Not on this iPhone”. This will take you to the deleted or uninstalled apps.

Find the app you want to restore and tap the download icon to restore a deleted app. Apps that have already been paid for do not have to be paid for again, of course, but can also be downloaded a second or third time free of charge.

The app will now be downloaded again and installed on the iOS device.

With a little luck, saved data in the app, such as scores in games or individual settings, can even be reloaded. This is the case when the app is linked to a specific online account (e.g. Facebook). Regular backups should be made to prevent data loss.

RESTORE DELETED APPS WITH ANDROID

If you use your Google account on your Android device, you will have no problems retrieving deleted apps. How to get back accidentally deleted apps:

The first step is to open the Google Play Store.

There, tap on the menu symbol ≡ or on your initial at the top left. Go to "My apps and games" and the "Media library" tab.

All apps that have ever been installed are now listed here. The list is sorted chronologically, but can be switched to alphabetical order. However, there is no overview of the uninstalled apps.

Look for the app that was accidentally deleted. Tap on the app you want to restore and go to "Install".

The app is restored and can be accessed again via the Android smartphone.

MANUALLY INSTALL ANDROID APPS

If an app cannot be installed, it may have been deleted from the Play Store due to a violation of the terms of use. In this case, you have to download the app as an APK installation file (set-up file for an app) from another source, for example the alternative play store APKPure or the apkmirror.com website, and then install it manually. However, there is a risk of malicious programs getting onto the smartphone, especially if the origin of the app is not entirely clear.

From Android 8

Starting with Android 8, you simply have to tap the APK file to do this. Copy the APK file to the internal memory or the microSD card beforehand.

Then confirm the displayed message with "Settings".

Activate the "Trust this source" switch and tap the back button.

If you accept the required permissions of the app, tap on "Install".

After the installation, you can tap “Done”. The app can now be found in the other apps.

Up to Android 7

Up to Android 7 you have to activate “unknown sources”: this can be done via “Settings” in the “Security” menu item.

Then confirm the warning with "OK".
Now copy the APK file to the smartphone using the file manager app, either to the internal memory or to a microSD card.
